Cassie to Testify Against Diddy In Sex-Trafficking Trial

Cassie Will Be In Court Today
Rolling Stone reports that Cassie Ventura will take the stand Tuesday (May 13) against former boyfriend Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. It’s the first time Cassie and Combs will see each other since 2018.
Cassie claims that Diddy abused her emotionally, physically, and sexually for over ten years.
Ventura is the key witness in a federal criminal case against Combs in New York. Prosecutors refer to her as Victim-1 in the indictment. Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, raised concerns about bias. Ventura is eight-and-a-half months pregnant. Agnifilo asked the judge if she could already be seated when the jury walks in. He said jurors might feel sympathy if a pregnant woman enters the courtroom.
Prosecutors have pushed back. They claim that treating her differently would be wrong and unfair to their client.
Cassie is expected to testify for the majority of this week. Combs faces the potential of life in prison if found guilty on all counts.
When Did The Trouble Start?
Ventura first met Combs in 2005. She was a 19-year-old singer excited to sign with Bad Boy. Combs was 37.
By her 21st birthday, she said Combs began pursuing her. That night, he allegedly forced a kiss on her in a bathroom.
Prosecutors say things got worse from there. Combs allegedly forced Ventura to have sex with male escorts while he watched. They claim he beat her when she said no and gave her drugs to keep her awake and under control.
Ventura said she often hid in hotels or at Combs’ mansion until her bruises healed.
When she tried to leave, she says Combs’ team tracked her down. They pressured her to return.
Prosecutors say Combs didn’t just abuse her behind closed doors. He controlled her career, her movements, and her life.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
