Iman Shumpert and Teyana Taylor’s divorce battle is heating up again—this time with both sides accusing each other of violating court orders and asking the judge to throw the other in jail.

On May 5, Iman, 34, filed a motion in court claiming that Teyana breached the terms of their July 2024 divorce agreement. According to documents obtained by In Touch, the former NBA player accused his ex-wife of exposing private details from their final judgment on social media, which he says violated the terms that required both parties to keep the case confidential.
Iman said that by sharing those details publicly, Teyana compromised his privacy and hurt his career. He claims her actions led to a loss of income and damaged both his personal and professional reputation. He also alleged that she intentionally obstructed his parenting rights by keeping their children from him on a scheduled pickup date and pulling them out of school without explanation.
In the court filing, Iman accused Teyana of insulting him in front of their children, using racially charged language, and damaging the children’s emotional well-being. He believes this behavior created unnecessary stress for their two daughters, Junie and Rue, and strained his relationship with them. According to Iman’s legal team, these actions violate the court’s custody orders.

Because of these alleged violations, Iman is asking the court to find Teyana in both civil and criminal contempt. He’s also asking the judge to fine her $1,000 and sentence her to 20 days in jail.
This latest move comes not long after Teyana filed her own motion asking the court to find Iman in contempt. She accused him of leaking sealed court documents to the press, something his legal team strongly denies. Iman’s lawyer, Stephen C. Steele, said in a public statement that his client had “never leaked any allegations or claims” from the case and insisted Iman “adamantly denies” sharing any private information with the media.

Teyana has also addressed the situation publicly. In an Instagram Live session, she clarified that she has never tried to get Iman locked up. “I never tried to send Iman to jail,” she said. “I’m still not trying to send Iman to jail.”

The former couple married in 2016 and share two young daughters. Teyana filed for divorce in January 2023, and the split was finalized in July 2024.
