An Ohio Turnpike plaza in Portage County was evacuated early this morning (Thursday) following an apparent bomb threat.

While authorities investigated, people were asked to leave the Portage Service Plaza for several hours.

The incident occurred within days of a terrorist attack in New Orleans that killed 15 people, a Cybertruck bomb explosion in Las Vegas that killed one, and a mass shooting outside a New York City nightclub that left 10 injured.

After a few hours, the turnpike plaza reopened.

From FOX 8:

The plaza closed around 12:20 a.m. A K-9 searched the building and found nothing. The service plaza opened back up just after 3 a.m.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
