Browns Release Statement To Fans On Possible Domed Stadium In Brook Park

Dee and Jimmy Haslam have responded to Cleveland’s open letter and 30-year plan to the Browns regarding staying in Downtown Cleveland. But it doesn’t look like Mayor Justing Bibb is going to like what he reads.

The Haslams also shared a concept of what a potential domed stadium in Brook Park could look like if they end up deciding to leave Cleveland.

The letter, which you can read in its entirety here, specifies that the Haslams have narrowed the options for a future Browns stadium to two choices: renovate the downtown field, or move to Brook Park.

“We do not take the stadium decision lightly,” the Haslams stated. “And have been working diligently with city, county and state officials to consider all opportunities. We need to be bold, we need to be innovative, and we need to take advantage of this unique moment to create a transformational project not only for our fans, but for Cleveland, the Northeast Ohio region and the State of Ohio.”

The move to Brook Park would satisfy fans who are desperate for a domed football field. Outside of the obvious relief from the weather, a domed field would potentially bring a Super Bowl, NCAA bowl game, and more.

On the contrary, fans who want to keep the field downtown argue about sentimentality and access to downtown attractions like restaurants, bars, and JACK Cleveland Casino.

In the letter, the Haslams specified that the Brook Park deal is not final, and they’re still in negotiations with the city, county and state about the future home of the Cleveland Browns.
